Health & Safety Introduction
Introduction from Jeannette Royle (MIOSH, MSc)
Welcome
to the Children and Young People's Department, Health and Safety website.
Since joining Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council back in the
early 90s it has been my priority to give staff both sound and
practical health and safety advice that not only meets the requirements
of legislation, but advice that is easy to put into practice.
Even with the expansion of the Health and Safety team, our primary
aim is to continue to give you the practical advice you and
your colleagues need to work safely and healthily.
The increasing use of technology has enabled us to look at how
we provide you with the necessary health and safety information.
Whilst we will continue to talk to you on the telephone, visit
you at your place of work and provide written advice, this dedicated
website will ensure you have the most recent health and Safety
advice.
Including:
- Publications
(both local and national)
- Links to
other safety web-sites
- Bulletins
and information
- Accident
Information
- Training
opportunities
- Claims
and insurance information
- Minutes
of health and safety committees
I hope this
technological move into the 21st century helps us to improve health
and safety standards, which befits that of a caring organisation.
