Support Staff Activities

The Teaching Assistant Folder contains copies of lesson plans and activities that can be used to support the work the teacher does in the classroom.

Use the activities within the lesson plans rather than trying to follow precisely what is in the plan.
Some of the plans have been downloaded from the Wirral Numeracy Project, the National Numeracy Site, Springboard support materials, the Teaching Assistant file, KS3 support materials, Maths Intervention materials, as well as other ideas.
Within the teaching assistant folder there are other folders. These folders contain activities for topics of mathematics. For example time, number bonds, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, counting,…

Open the folder you are interested in. There is a list of activities and sometimes the year group the activity was written for is indicated. Please ignore the year group, since the children you are working with may not be at this level. Print out only the work you are interested in, because the TA folder contains too much information for it all to be printed.

Some areas contain lists of website addresses in which you can find other activities, you can open these files by clicking on the addresses on these pages.

One of the folders is a resource folder which contains a list of resources you may wish to collect, templates for number fans, vocabulary cards, arrow cards, multiplication tables bookmarks, e.t.c. Please print off any of these materials and if you can, laminate them for your own use.

We hope to add other materials to the folder and would appreciate any ideas or activities you think we may be able to use. Please contact the Numeracy Team at the Professional Development Centre.
