Play Narration Stop Narration Michelle Rowley is a fine art artist who works in painting and printmaking and is currently a member of the Bridewell Studios, Liverpool.

Over her career as a practising artist and part time lecturer, in further and higher education, she has continued to develop her work in a wide variety of print media.

Her involvement with the visual arts community in Liverpool and Manchester has led to the development of an artists print workshop Hot Bed Press, funded by the North West Arts Board. This work has provided her with the experience of developing arts and
educational projects for schools, arts organisations, galleries and museums.

Michelle has exhibited widely in North West England in solo and group exhibitions.

She also works in schools as an artist in residence and as a specialist workshop
provider for arts projects in schools, galleries and museums.

As part of the Art and Architecture Residency 2000, Michelle worked in Bidston
Avenue Primary School, Hilbre High School and Plessington High School.

Play Narration Stop Narration Michelles comments about the project at Bidston Avenue Primary:

"The children grew tremendously confident and were very proud of their achievements. Work was taken around the school and the group explained to their classes how they had made their work. They all became experts by the end of the residency".

Summative comment by Bidston Avenue Primary School, Plessington High School and Hilbre High School:

"The residency was very successful because of the wonderful nature of the
artist, her hard work and good relationship with the children. The project helped
the pupils gain more skills and we were very lucky to be part of the scheme.

Excellent for the students, for having an example of a young professional
artist working in the school environment.

It made the students really look at the buildings in the local environment
and it increased their confidence in printing techniques".
