Since 1984 Wirral Schools have benefitted from a creative collaboration between Unilever, the Williamson Art Gallery, & Wirral School Art Departments. The thirteen projects to date have helped young people examine their local environment, architecture, people, industry & leisure.

Colin Simpson of the Williamson Art Gallery states,

" We all know that if the world in which we live is unrewarding, then our lives are impoverished. Using art is a means of investigating that world & perhaps be critical of it; only then can we set about changing it to suit us better or to improve it. Awareness is the key."

No fewer than 36 artists have helped young people from Wirral be visually aware & creatively critical of their surroundings over the past 16 years.
