HISTORY
The clubs began 6 years ago.
They run for 8 - 10 weeks per term.
We have on average 120 - 170 children attending a club each term.
Initially the After School Clubs were funded by Study Support.
The clubs are now funded solely from the school budget.
We are very fortunate to have full support from the Schools Governing
body.

AIMS:
To provide opportunities for our children to experience
a wide range of activities.
Have you ever worked with an Executive Chef and made your own fresh pasta?
Pudding is even better, sponge cake ice cream cones dipped in icing and
covered in smarties and sprinkles. Yum! Yum!
To afford opportunities for learning beyond normal school hours and help
students to be confident, independent learners.
To provide opportunity for students to use everyday
equipment in a way which is not curriculum led.
A lump of clay does not have to be for a Divali lamp.
It can be used for whatever the potter wants it to be.
First and foremost our children to have fun.
The range of clubs we do and have run is varied.
Art, Drama, Dance - country, modern, jazz and our latest Street dance.
Kwik cricket, Gymnastics,
ICT, Journalism, Sewing/craft,
Silk painting, Yoga
Model building, Table tennis, Cookery
Basketball, Cycling, French,
Spanish, High Fives, Football,
Board games, Bookmaking.
Wow! we have some talent at DPPS.

After School Clubs
Welcome back,
I hope you have had plenty of rest over the Summer holidays and are raring
to go, because, yes, you guessed it, After School Clubs are back!
I am looking at running the clubs for 8 weeks
this term, week commencing 26th September to week commencing 21st November.
If you would be willing to run a club please fill in the slip and return
it to me by….
WEDNESDAY 7th SEPTEMBER
I have collated the requests sent out to children
at the end of last term. The most requested clubs are those which we already
have. For some of the lesser requested I am looking at incorporating next
term
( anyone fancy running a Sumo wrestling club!!)
We now have full use of the lower hall after
school, I will be able to offer more sport/dance/drama during the week.
Looking forward to your happy replies
