Curriculum and Advice Inset Directory
Autumn 2008 - Summer 2009

Foreword
This Directory contains the most up to date information possible at the time of going to print for the Autumn term, 2008 and later in the 2008 - 2009 academic year.

The Service Level Agreement now works differently for each phase to reflect their differing needs and the wishes of schools' representatives. The key points are:

Primary

  • School-focused development activities delivered mainly by Advisory Teachers.
  • 1 day's consultancy/training from a list of recommended trainers or £700 towards the cost of a trainer.
  • Unlimited advice and relevant support from Principal Managers, Advisers , Consultants and Advisory Teachers.

Secondary

  • The work of the two 14-19 Advisory Teachers will produce a range of development opportunities for schools which have bought the Service Level Agreement.
  • £2,000 per school towards training/development costs.
  • Central training to cover needs are identified through WASH , WISPHA, the secondary CP Leaders' group or the CPD Service Management Group.
  • Unlimited advice and relevant support from Principal Managers, Advisers , Consultants and Advisory Teachers .

Special Schools

  • Access to all mainstream phase activities as stated above.
  • A range of activities funded from the Service Level Agreement but directed by the schools themselves.
  • Unlimited advice and relevant support from Principal Managers, Advisers , Consultants and Advisory Teachers.

The above is in addition to those entitlement activities which are funded through national or local funding streams.

Suggestions or complaints are managed by the CPD Service Management Group which includes representatives from all Primary Cluster groups and Secondary schools with additional representatives from Special Schools and key LA personnel. Complaints should be addressed, in the first instance, to Lynne Hayes.

If you have any ideas or comments about the layout, content or presentation of the directory please contact any member of the Curriculum and Advice Support Team at Wirral's Professional Excellence Centre.
