International Leadership Learning Programme
The International Leadership Learning Programme (ILLP) is a new NCSL programme which offers a unique opportunity to reflect upon leadership in an international context and investigate a particular leadership theme pertinent to school and system wide development. It builds on and replaces the International Placement for Headteachers (IPH) programme. The programme has been designed by NCSL and is delivered by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT) and the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL).
ILLP is open to Headteachers and other senior school leaders who will learn together and learn on behalf of others. It is aimed at those who wish to develop leadership capacity, implementing changes to benefit their school/organisation and share their learning to benefit others.
Headteachers and other senior school leaders may apply for the programme individually or as part of an existing group, identifying your areas of interest. NCSL will then research and identify an appropriate destination where participants can explore powerful leadership practice, local challenges and solutions in theirs chosen enquiry focus. Participants will return to influence their school/organisation and locality/region and, through effective dissemination, share their learning with the wider education system.

Job shadowing
http://www.britishcouncil.org/comenius-job-shadowing.htm
UK applicants need to identify the colleague abroad to job shadow and agree a job shadow plan with that colleague and their institution. The plan might take the form of an email from the colleague setting out briefly what is planned for each day of the visit. There is funding from up to 1500 Euro for 1 week, 2000 Euro for 2 weeks and up to a maximum of 2500 Euro for 6 weeks. A higher grant may be awarded where special needs or exceptionally high travel costs are involved. The final deadline for 2008 is 30 September 2008 (depending on sufficient available funds) for activities starting between 1 January 2009 and 31 March 2009.
