"Pennies for the Peacock"

What will this game will achieve?
This activity will help your child work out coins to be used to make 1 - 10p.  It will also help with coin recognition and values.

You will need:

• Put all the pieces of string in the box and place in the middle of the base-board
• Take it in turns to choose a piece of string
• Try to match the string to the string on the board which you think is the same length
• Lay the string carefully along the string board. If it is the same length keep it. If it isn't the same length return it to the box.
• Keep taking turns until the string box is empty
• The winner is the person with the greatest number of strings
