[Wirral Metro is the competitive outlet for the Council’s Swim Wirral Performance programme]

If your answer to these questions is yes then we want to hear from you. At Wirral Metro we provide swimming programs, for swimmers wishing to be part of a competitive swim team. Our experienced team of coaches lead a program that ranges from our developmental training groups aged 7 -11 through to our age-group program for swimmers aged 11 – 14 and our top level training program for older swimmers.

Our qualified and licensed coaching staff provides an environment for success where all of our swimmers are given the opportunity to be the best they can be. Our professionally developed training programme provides strength and fitness training, nutritional advice, physiotherapy and sports massage. We provide an environment for success where athlete wellbeing and long-term development is at the centre of our thinking.

Within our coaching groups we have International swimmers, National Age Group Champions and finalists, National Youth finalists and we compete at County, Regional and National levels, including various open meets throughout the year.

Wirral Metro Swimming Club is a Swim 21 accredited club – the swimming club 'Quality mark'. We are committed to providing safe, effective and quality services through our dedicated team of professional coaches and ASA qualified support staff.

TRY-OUTS

Swim Wirral Performance offer New Swimmer Try-Outs on Mondays at Europa Pools, 5.45 pm

[Interested swimmers are asked to please arrive 15 minutes early so that we may have the coaching group begin on time]

To inquire about any programs, or to try-out, please follow these procedures:

Swimmers who wish to join the Wirral Coaching Groups and club programs are encouraged to make contact with the following persons to discuss the coaching options:

7 - 11 years

12 years and over

Please contact Performance Coach, Paul Remmonds, Phone: 0151 666 5658 and Email: paulremmonds@wirral.gov.uk for all enquires relating to swimmers 12 years and over.

At the trial your swimming ability will be assessed by an ASA qualified swimming coach, who will advise which coaching group would be most suitable for you to join.

SWIM WIRRAL ACADEMY

SWIM WIRRAL ACADEMY is a natural progression from SWIM WIRRAL and provides a clear link into Swim Wirral Performance and clubs for those who have completed or progressed well through the stages of the NPTS.

If you are looking for a program designed to progress towards advanced technique work and speed development, we recommend you try the SWIM WIRRAL ACADEMY based at Europa Pools, Birkenhead, or The Oval, Bebington.
